Renton firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday morning in the Benson Hill neighborhood, with no occupants inside, according to the Renton fire department.
Four fire engines, a ladder truck, two battalion chiefs and an aid car responded to the residential fire in the 16600 block of 105 Ave. S. at about a little after 9 a.m. There were no occupants or pets in the house, according to Erik Wallgren, deputy fire chief for the Renton Fire and Emergency Services Department.
The house was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived and fire crews took a defensive stance in putting it out, said Wallgren. The fire has now been extinguished, and Wallgren described the damages as “a total loss.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
