Violet Kelly, co-owner of the Kelly Ranch on the Renton-Issaquah Highway, died June 6, 2009. She was born on Feb. 20, 1923, in Culdesac, Idaho.

In 1957, she and her husband John moved to Issaquah to begin “Kelly Ranch.” For the next 40 years the business expanded to more than 50 horses and included trail rides, lessons, boarding, horse shows and the annual Salmon Day parade.

The Celebration of Her Life is 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kelly Ranch.
