The recent action by the Renton School Board to make a major personnel change in secret should be alarming for every taxpayer in the state.

What if, when the voters knew the facts, they sided with the progressive ideas of a far better-educated superintendent over the members of the board?

Silencing dissent is one way an organization can manipulate public opinion and avoid public backlash.

Without the facts, the voters in Renton’s school district have no way to gauge the actions of their elected officials, and that is simply unacceptable.

If the former superintendent has done nothing wrong, then the voters have every reason to expect the actions of the School Board to be transparent and open for public review.
