Luther’s Table, in Renton, is hosting two big events in April: a pre-Easter music event and a gala.
From 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., April 19, the downtown pub will host a Blues Night, the evening before Easter Sunday to acknowledge “a time of tension where we hold the grief of the death of Jesus and the hope of his resurrection,” its website stated.
For the event, Luther’s Table will feature three blues bands, performing three sets, and special guest Matt Allan, a slam poet.
Restaurant staff, board members and donors will gather at Luther’s Table’s for its Benefit Gala is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on April 28. Tickets are $60. The fundraising event will feature live music, a buffet dinner, open bar and a dessert dash, featuring treats from local bakers. Bishop Kirby Unti will be one of several special guest speakers.
Luther’s Table is a mission start of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The restaurant and pub regularly collects money and donates to local charities. Last year, Luther’s Table raised more than $10,000 and supported such organizations as The Way Back Inn, Vision House, Communities in Schools of Renton, the Salvation Army, Renton Area Youth Services and the St. Matthew’s Adopt-a-Family Program.
