- Westbound Northeast Fourth Street in the Highlands will be reduced to one lane through Friday, March 22, at Union Avenue Northeast for around-the-clock roadwork.
Crews are removing old asphalt pavement and installing new concrete pavement at the intersection. When this project is completed, improvements will include a signalized intersection of Northeast Fourth Street and Whitman Court Northeast and a westbound bicycle lane and sidewalk landscape strips.
The project will improve safety and traffic operations at this intersection and busy access to shopping and the Post Office, according to the City of Renton.
The project also includes the replacement of a water main under Northeast Fourth Street.
