Liberty sophomore quarterback Trey Wheeler was selected on to the AP 3A all-state first team as a punter.

Wheeler passed for 1,638 yards and 13 scores as a quarterback, but his strong work as a punter earned him the selection.

The Patriots finished 9-3 this season and advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament.
