The Lindbergh Eagles on Wednesday night moved their win streak to six, toppling the Hazen Highlanders 65-58 to set up a three-way tie at the top of the Seamount League Standings.
Hazen’s Tarren Sumler and Lindbergh’s Jordan Flye led all scorers with 23 points each. Kelton Williams also added 22 points and 8 assists for Lindbergh.
Hazen entered the game in sole possession of first place, but the red hot Eagles started quick, jumping out to a 21-9 lead in the first quarter and then held on to their slim lead the rest of the game.
Hazen had a strong second quarter, outscoring the Eagles 16-13 and the teams headed to the locker room with Lindbergh up 34-25.
The third quarter was a defensive struggle with the Eagles scoring a single point more. Hazen rallied in a high-scoring final frame but ultimately fell just short.
Both teams are now 6-2 in the Seamount League and have split their games against each other. Both are tied with Kennedy Catholic atop the standings, though Hazen has one more win overall.
Lindbergh plays at Renton on Friday. Hazen travels to Evergreen.
