Hazen Pitcher Drew Santana was named the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association baseball Athlete of the Week on Thursday.

Santana threw a no-hitter April 1 against Highline, striking out 17 Pirates batters as the Highlanders won 2-0. He also had an RBI in the game.

Two nights earlier against Foster, Santana went 2—for-3 at the plate with 3 runs in the Highlanders’ 11-2 win.

In recognition of their accomplishment, each Athlete of the Week winner receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director, Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week t-shirt, and a certificate. Winners are also posted to the WIAA website at www.wiaa.com
