A police cadet in the Patrol Services Division of the Renton Police Department was honored recently by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
Travis Gnehm received recognition last month for his work on parking enforcement, traffic safety and traffic enforcement.
According to the commission, Gnehm assisted in managing abandon vehicle postings and monitored and placed the neighborhood speed trailer. He organized and assisted in implementing a traffic-safety program for high school students.
He researched grant funding for traffic safety projects and applied for grant funding both in the government and private sector. He was attached to the collision reconstruction team and was on the call out list for major investigations that occur during off duty times.
