The King Conservation District Board of Supervisors has hired Jeffrey Possinger as new executive director.
The district, based in Renton, is one of 47 conservation districts in the state. Possinger was selected following a nationwide search.
A Northwest native, Possinger was formerly the managing partner of a private business law practice in Bellevue. Using his legal and strategic consulting experience, he is committed to furthering KCD’s educational and environmental initiatives, according to a press release announcing his hiring.
Possinger was a member of the Duvall City Council from 2003 to 2007 and served as mayor pro tem from 2005 to 2007. In addition, he served as the acting mayor in 2005. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Washington and a law degree from Seattle University School of Law.
King Conservation District is an independent special-services district encompassing most of King County. It offers assistance and information on a voluntary basis with conservation and environmental issues.
