The 13th annual Fall Harvest Festival is Saturday, with 200 pumpkins, more than 50 booths, encompassing 35 craft vendors, five food vendors, retail, nonprofits and services.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Piazza, South Third and Burnett Streets.
“It’s pretty eclectic, (there’s) something for everyone,” said Cheryl Scheuerman.
Scheuerman is the treasurer of Piazza Renton, who along with Rely on Renton, another community group, is responsible for the Fall Harvest Festival.
Rely on Renton will once again host “The Zombie Photobooth,” where participants can get their photos taken.
Kids are invited to paint faces on pumpkins and dress them up with craft supplies. Adults can peruse the Renton Pavilion Event Center and check out local businesses, nonprofits and retail booths.
Also back again this year is the Nibble and Nosh from 1 to 3 p.m. in the event center, featuring The Berliner, Red House, Rain City Catering and Cedar River Cellars. This area is for those age 21 and older.
Other food vendors include Maria’s Famous Foods, Forest Fairy Bakery, Sweet Crazy Corn, Shen Zen Tea and Northwest Kettle Corn.
A couple of the new booths include Chess4Life, a giant-sized chess board, and Usborne Books. Chess4Life teaches life lessons while players navigate a huge chess board. Usborne Books, Scheuerman describes as an “awesome book company” akin to Scholastic Books.
There will be lots of crafts by local artists, jewelry, gloves, scarves, wine bags, purses, seasonal pieces, leather goods and more.
Pretty much all the same vendors and activities are planned for the Fall Harvest Festival this year.
“I’m hoping it will be exactly the same: successful, good weather – fun festivities for everyone,” said Scheuerman.
