Renton’s Kristin Haag led the way for local gymnasts at the West Central District III tournament Feb. 13 at Auburn Mountainview.
Haag won the vault competition with a score of 8.650. She had the highest score of the day with her first try, 8.800. The score qualified her for state.
Haag will also compete at state in the beam, where she finished fourth.
Wanda Saechin (vault and beam), Selina Villagomez (bars) and Tala Hild (beam) advanced to state for the Indians.
Sarah McCormick led Hazen with a second-place finish in bars. She scored 6.4 and will compete at state in the bars and vault. Becca Shure-Reinhart performed very well for the Highlanders, making state in vault, bars, beam and floor.
For Lindbergh, Jami Kouba made state in vault. Makia Williams made state in floor and beam.
