Body Language Studios celebrates 3 years in Renton Highlands

Named one of the top small businesses in the country, Body Language Studios has been open for 15 years, but celebrated 3 years in Renton over the weekend.

On Aug. 17, Body Language Dance Studio off of Sunset Boulevard in Renton hosted its 3rd annual Open House and Birthday Celebration.

The event kicked off with free classes where kids and adults could learn jazz, ballet, cross-training, jazz funk and breaking (don’t call it break dancing), followed by a dance showcase and a breaking battle. The celebration was full of raffle giveaways, birthday cake and physics-bending dancing, where kids as young as age 5 joined the breaking battle.

Owned and directed by Lea and Jerome Aparis, who met when she was on the Seattle SuperSonics Dance Team and he was on the SuperSonics Boom Squad, Body Language Studio’s 2024-2025 Dance School year begins Sept. 3 and is located at 3155 Sunset Boulevard Northeast in Renton.
