Joe’s Sports & Outdoor has opened its doors at the The Landing in north Renton.
The Northwest’s largest sporting-goods retailer hosted a grand opening on Thursday, although a “soft” opening had occurred earlier.
The store is at 915 N. Landing Way, near Target. The store at The Landing is the result of the Joe’s in Bellevue relocating to Renton.
As part of the opening, The Joe’s Sports & Outdoor Foundation awarded $2,000 grants to each of the Renton high school athletic programs: Hazen High School, Renton High School and Lindbergh High School.
Lori Bennett, manager of the Renton store, said, “I’m glad we’re opening just in time for back to-school, or ‘back-to-sports’ as we like to call it. This store has everything for football, basketball, soccer and more. And at our service shops you can have your bike tuned up or repaired, rent skis and snowboards, or have a vehicle roof rack installed by skilled technicians. It’s a great new resource for active people in the community.”
Joe’s Sports & Outdoor, with 30 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest, carries a full line of sporting goods, apparel, footwear, automotive products and related merchandise.
Its stores range in size from 36,000 to 70,000 square feet. Revenues for this fiscal year are expected to exceed $290 million.
