Renton held its own at the King County Small Business Awards over the weekend, with Rain City Catering taking home the prize for “Minority-owned Small Business of the Year.”
Rain City wasn’t alone at the Oct. 7 awards event, with Hothi Family Ranch, Ohana Behavioral Health and The Brewmaster’s Taproom accompanying with their own small business nominations.
Hothi Family Ranch was nominated for “Rural Small Business of the Year”, while Ohana Behavioral Health and The Brewmaster’s Taproom were up against each other for “Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year.” Brewmaster’s was also nominated for “Green/Sustainable Small Business of the Year.” Rain City was also nominated for Small Business of the Year, going up against KAYA strategik of Kent and Spice Waala of Seattle, the latter of which taking the prize.
