Nominations are being sought through Feb. 6 for the ninth annual “Ahead of the Class” awards.

Sponsored by the Renton Chamber of Commerce, the annual awards honor outstanding teachers.

A selection committee will review nominations and conduct interviews March 23 – 27. Winners will be announced April 3.

Winning teachers will receive $500 and be honored at a community ceremony and dessert reception May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center.
