From a press release-

Sixty business leaders from China visited Renton this past week to discuss possible investment in SECO’s Southport development. The group made the trip from Seattle by boat.

“This meeting is an opportunity to build and strengthen our relationship with our guests from China, to develop new partnerships, and welcome businesses to Southport,” said Min Christ, CEO, Seattle Family Regional Center.

Located on the shores of Lake Washington, Southport is planned to be a mix of office, retail, luxury apartments, and the Hotel at Southport, a LEED approved development in design and construction, and the only four-star hotel within eight miles of SeaTac Airport.

The Hotel at Southport is a partially funded EB5 investment project with the Seattle Family Regional Center.

Hang Xu, chairman of Mindray, the largest medical equipment manufacture in China, was one of the 60 business leaders that toured SECO Development’s 17.1-acre Southport site on April 23.

The purpose of the visit was to forge new partnerships with global businesses committed to innovative technology and green building in the Greater Seattle area. The business leaders included the Chairmen of Mindray, Kingdee International Software Group, Beijing Genomics Institute, and Washington State China Relations Council Executive Director, Kristi Heim.

The recently announced Southport Waterfront Corporate Campus, three Class A high-tech nine-story office buildings, is the final phase of the $570 million Southport development.

The Southport Waterfront Campus is a high-tech corporate center with 100 percent fiber Gigabit Passive Optic Network (GPON) with access up to 100 GB data speeds. Also a LEED approved development, waterfront corporate campus adds 725,50 square-feet of Class A office space, 10,390-square-feet of ground floor retail, and 2078 dedicated structured parking spaces to the Renton, Kirkland, Mercer Island, and Seattle area.
