The Met recognized for helping food, clothes banks

The Renton Lions Club has presented a Certificate of Appreciation to The Met Coffee and Wine Bar for its efforts to provide donations for the Renton Clothes Bank and the Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank.

The certificate was presented by club President Roberta Logue to the owner, Michael Servis, and his manager, Tara Andrews, both guests of the club at the recent installation of club officers.

The Met has been promoting donations to the Renton Clothes Bank and the Renton Food Bank. Once a month at itsThursday Wine Tastings, attendees can waive the $5 tasting fee if they donate clothing or food that evening. The fee money that is received for the tasting is earmarked for the Food Bank.

The Met Coffee & Wine Bar, 232-C Burnett Ave. S. in downtown Renton, has been doing this for four months. The next Clothes/Food Bank Tasting at The Met Coffee & Wine Bar is June 25.

The clothes, food, and money for food are gathered and distributed to the banks by the Renton Lions Club Vice President Lynn Peretti.
