Tourism grant applications open in Renton

The application period closes at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18.

As autumn (slowly) returns, so does the Tourism Promotion grant, with the application period ending on Friday, Oct. 18.

The 2025 tourism grants, made possible by the city’s Lodging Tax Fund, support “innovative events that showcase the city’s charm” and help boost local tourism.

Eligible candidates are nonprofit organizations — which includes main street organizations, lodging associations or the chamber of commerce, for example, along with the city’s arts commissions, park boards and planning commissions. Capital expenditures are not eligible for the tourism grant.

The Lodging Tax Fund primarily funds municipal activities, operations, and expenditures designed to increase tourism.

A live Q&A about the grants was held Sept. 12 at Dock & Drink at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington.

The application period closes at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, with the funded projects being announced in December. Click here to learn more.
