Valley Named a 2015 ‘Most Wired’ Hospital & Health Network

The survey is designed to measure the level of IT adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems, and is a useful tool for hospital and health system leadership to map their IT strategic plans.

From a press release:

Out of more than 2,200 U.S. hospitals across the nation surveyed, Valley Medical Center was one of 338 that made it to Hospitals & Health Networks’ 2015 Most Wired list, demonstrating some of the most advanced health information technology use and adoption in the nation.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award,”Wayne Manuel, Valley Medical Center’s Chief Information Officer, siad in a press release. “We’re very proud of being named ’Most Wired’ but it’s much more than Valley investing heavily in great technologies. It’s really about giving patients access to more of their own information so they can be more involved with their physicians in the management of their health. The technologies are simply the enablers that streamline the process towards great quality health care.”

The strategic use of health IT is a differentiator as hospitals prepare for the value-based, second curve of healthcare which focuses on high quality care while in the hospital and wellness and disease management to prevent hospitalizations. Most Wired hospitals lead the way in: use of IT to hardwire evidence-based practices to improve quality and patient safety; converting data into actionable information through analytics for clinical and business decision-making; and integrating services through medical homes and health information exchanges.

Hospitals & Health Networks sponsors the annual Most Wired Survey, which is an industry-standard benchmark study. The survey is designed to measure the level of IT adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems, and is a useful tool for hospital and health system leadership to map their IT strategic plans.
