Have you sent in your ballot?
The countdown is on for the Renton School District bond election, “Building for a Lifetime of Learning.”
Since the Renton School Board of Directors voted to put the Renton School Building Improvement Bond back out to the public to vote, every day I have been talking to parents, teenagers and friends about the sad fact that we are not exercising our right to vote. PLEASE do not let a small majority of voters dictate the future of our school district. The Renton School District has hundreds of hard-working and extremely dedicated staff, for the success of all our students. This is the time to show your continued support! It is our schools and our Renton community, and to the 11,000 families in the Renton School District, we need you to vote!
What has been even more rewarding and heartwarming is the number of messages I have received since the ballots arrived in early May. Many parents, high school students and friends, telling me “I voted” or “Our entire family has voted.” I am so pleased that they heard the message and exercised their right to vote and sent in their ballot before the postmark deadline of May 20.
Now I ask you: HAVE YOU SENT IN YOUR BALLOT? MY FAMILY HAS!
