Superintendent Mary Alice Heuschel should be spending her time on Renton Schools, not a hospital commissioner campaign. With one failing school, a large budget deficit, and a $242,000 (including benefits) salary, clearly her priorities should remain with the schools.
The ballots have been sent to the voters for the Aug. 16 primary and I urge you to join me in voting Ed Prince for Renton City Council
Although I’ve lived in Renton for more than four years, I’ve often felt like I’m disconnected from the community.
I’d like to commend the Renton Reporter on its recommendation of Ed Prince for City Council
When you vote in the upcoming Primary Election, be sure to go all the way to the bottom of the ballot. There you will find a race for commissioner of Public Hospital District No. 1. In more straightforward language, this race is for Valley Medical Center commissioner, and the candidate of choice is Mary Alice Heuschel. Dr. Mary Alice currently serves as superintendent of Renton Public Schools, a position she will continue if also elected to serve her community as a hospital commissioner.
In August, the citizens of Renton will have to choose between three candidates who would like to be the next person to represent them on the Renton City Council. I am confident that when voters examine the choices, Ed Prince will be the candidate who gets their vote.
Valley Medical Center has been a major healthcare leader in South King County since the early 1940s. Now, with the initiation of an alliance with the University of Washington Medicine, Valley Medical is poised to move to greater heights. The alliance is going to be a powerful tool in expanding and improving healthcare in the region for years to come.
Renton reeks and I am not talking about the sewer plant located at the edge of the city. Murdoch appears to be “Mother Teresa” when comparing ethical standards and integrity with the Renton Reporter’s editorial/candidate evaluation board!
The final performance is on Sunday July 31, at 2 p.m., so there is still time to enjoy the young talent we have, right here in Renton!!
When you vote in the upcoming primary election, be sure to go all the way to the bottom of the ballot.
Ed Prince is the right candidate for City Council Position 5.
There’s a very good reason why Ed Prince’s candidacy for City Council has attracted so much support throughout the community: he has earned the trust and respect of Renton’s citizens by demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to public service and volunteerism.
I am a younger, new voter who was very impressed when Robin Jones, candidate for Renton City Council, knocked on my door.
With an open seat on the Renton City Council, we have a choice to make in August and we highly recommend Ed Prince.
Mayor Law, City Council members and Alex Pietsch,
Sincere thanks to the city for giving us the beautiful “Piazza” for us to relax and enjoy.
You allowed small apartment buildings in downtown; this is good.
But I must admit I am worried about our city.
Somehow missing from the discussion: The fact that the new “downtown” library as envisioned by KCLS is actually smaller than the existing downtown library. So, we get: a smaller library in an undesirable location with no ease of access and this is a good deal for whom?
One of my sources for obtaining information regarding Renton has been the Renton Reporter. According to this week’s Reporter, my letter will arrive too late to make a difference but I still hope all of you will take the time to read it.
I use both the Highlands and main Renton Library extensively and I support Sally Scott’s well-reasoned suggestion to preserve the library in its present location.
As a resident of Public Hospital District No. 1 (a.k.a. Valley Medical Center; VMC), as well as an employee at VMC, I am deeply concerned over the recent divisive behaviors of the district’s Board of Commissioners.
The location of the Renton Public Library is of vital importance to our many citizens. They should be congratulated for their involvement in planning. It appears that the mayor and several Renton City Council members are the main promoters of a location which most see as inappropriate.
