Unlike many of your contributors, I am not a longtime Renton Library patron. I did not, nor did my children, grow up with the great services available through the Renton Library. I can appreciate the memories involving the library. And I am an avid reader, and enjoy the ease with which current and past material is available.
I have watched as library services have changed and expanded. The role that libraries fill in the schools has been greatly enhanced. As our city grows, the areas served have expanded as well as the number of students.
Upon reading all the available arguments for and against annexation to KCLS, I feel that the present and future needs of students and all of our citizens will best be met with annexation.
The enclosure from the City of Renton that was included with our utility billing clearly indicates the challenges involved. I would urge all voters to realistically assess all information available. I think such an assessment will lead to a “for” vote for annexation to KCLS in February.
A concerned citizen,
