Renton VFW Post 1263 needs a lot of help from individuals and businesses within the community.
This post has been providing dance music twice weekly for us over-the- hill vets from VFW and American Legion Post all over South King County. On Wednesday nights volunteers play dance music from 6 to 9 p.m. The musicians age runs from the mid-20s to the mid-90s. On Friday nights the post hires a band that plays music from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
This post provides an environment that all of us enjoy most of us and have been going there for years we lost a lot of old friends and made a lot of new ones. No one wants to see these nights out go away.
First and foremost roof needs to be replaced as it’s presently held together by Band-Aids and wire. I’m asking South King County businesses for their help, if they would call and talk to Post Commander John Sention at 425-793-3611 about what you might do to help.
Individuals that would like to help you can send checks to the Renton VFW Post 1263, 415 Burnett Ave. S., 98005 for the post maintenance and operational fund.
