I want to thank the Seattle Seafair Clowns for putting together a special event at Heritage Park where they provided free school supplies.

Realizing the need for school supplies for children is greater this year than ever, I contacted Martin Patricelli with the Seattle Seafair Clowns  and asked if they would help solicit donations of school supplies for kids to be presented during a free lunch program at Heritage Park Tuesday afternoon.  Not only did the clowns solicit and help distribute the donations, they entertained hundreds of kids for well over an hour.  They made the event more successful than my wildest dreams!

The following companies deserve a big thank you for their support of the event:  Employees of Stoneway Concrete & Gary Merlino Construction, Marco Polo restaurant, Everett Steel Company, The Shack (Radio Shack), Northwest Business Forms, Acme Construction, Keithly Electric, Lafarge North America, Fleetpride, Peterbuilt and Grace Constuction Products.

Thanks to the Seattle Seafair Clowns and all the sponsors we were able to give a large bag of school supplies to more than 220 kids in preparation of the start of the school year. Renton is a great community to live , work and play because we have so many great companies and individuals who are willing to help when they see a need.
