You have to give it to Bernadene Dochnahl, she was 100 percent right! (“Real worry is that trustees will pick next RTC president,” letter to the editor, Renton Reporter, Aug. 21) How could a supposedly civic-minded, educationally oriented Board of Trustees of any community organization act in the manner in which the Board of Trustees acted at Renton Technical College? “For no reason necessary” they were able to do irreparable damage to the college, to the student body, to the faculty that will take years to repair.

As a financial supporter, as a trustee emeritus of the college’s foundation and as an admirer of Dr. Bressler, I want to object to their action. We are in a deep financial crisis and they are going to pay an extra $148,000 to Dr. Bressler? They are going to hire a research firm to find a new president? Just a minute. …

I think Mrs. Dochnahl has it absolutely right. We should be able to do something about this.
