Williams best choice for judicial position

Southeast King County is fortunate in having Matt Williams as a candidate for District Court Position 6. Voting for judges is hard. But when it comes right down to it, Matt has the broadest and most-balanced experience in this race.

Unlike his opponent, Matt has been a prosecutor, an assistant attorney general, an adjunct law professor at two local universities as well as a Judge pro-tem and a defense attorney. Matt is also a nationally recognized instructor in trial procedure who has spent much of his free time teaching judges and lawyers in this country, and overseas helping other countries improve their legal justice systems.

Only Matt was rated exceptionally well qualified by the King County Bar Association (the top rating) as well as four other rating organizations. His opponent didn’t get all those top ratings, even though he says that he has been a judge for 30 years. The King County District Court clerks also chose Matt over his opponent. So did the Probation Officers, Law Enforcement, as well as current and elected prosecutors.

Having known Matt closely since his now-grown daughters were infants here in Renton, we whole-heartedly endorse his goal of giving back to his community by serving as District Court judge. We urge you to give him your vote.
