The Renton American Legion Fred Hancock Post 19 is hosting a Constitutional Speech Contest.

The Renton post qualification will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Scholarships totaling $5,000 will be awarded to students throughout the state contest and the state winner will be awarded $2,000 plus an all-expense trip to Indianapolis to partake in the national contest.

All Post 19 contestants will receive a $50 savings bond and those who qualify will go on to the LegionDepartment of Washington competition in Moses Lake March 9-11, 2018.
