The following a press release:
Before Washington was a state, the King County Fair was a celebration of the region’s agricultural heritage and rural charm. The 156th edition of the longest-running County Fair west of the Mississippi is opening new exhibits to attract young and old.
Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, who represents Enumclaw on the Council, is excited for residents to take part in the tradition.
“Each year I look forward to this great event because it is truly fun for all,” said Dunn. “I hope everyone can make it out!”
The Fair opens Thursday, July 19 at the Enumclaw Expo Center 45224 284th Ave. SE, Enumclaw. Attractions include 4-H livestock shows, exhibits, live music, rides, and of course, fair foods!
This year the kid’s area has been expanded from previous years and there is a new teen-focused technology game that will allow teens (and all fairgoers) to tour the Fair. The anchor event in the arena is a large jackpot barrel race.
“We are extremely excited about this year’s fair,” said Scott Gray, Enumclaw Expo Center Executive Director. “We are expecting a much larger turn out of animals from FFA as well as 4H and we will have some new thrilling rides and games. The weather is heating up, so we hope to see everyone out here.”
The fair is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission includes all shows and concerts. Tickets can be purchased at the gates or you can purchase advanced discounted tickets online. Ride tickets and wristbands are sold separately.
Admission for adults (13 & up) is $10 and kids ages five and under are free.
