Artist Shirley Rudolf presenting at Carco Theatre

The Renton Municipal Arts Commission is presenting the art work of Shirley Rudolf Nov. 15 -Dec. 17 at the Carco Theatre next to the Renton Community Center.

There will be a closing reception, a chance to meet Rudolf and view her work, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m on Dec. 17.

The watercolor and acrylics artist has been painting for 13 years and just recently took up acrylics for a change. She focuses on a wide range of subjects such as traditional flowers, landscapes, and animals to stylized familial scenes and Native Americans in ceremonial attire.

A California native, she has presented in exhibits and juried shows across her home state and Western Washington.

“It is crucial for artists to be aware of their surroundings as beauty is everywhere, and it is the artist’s responsibility to bring that beauty to the attention of others,” she said.
