Chrome Molly, arena and pop metal rock band, performed at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park on the Kidd Valley Stage at 7 p.m. July 11.

“Thank you all for coming out on this beautiful summer evening,” said Chrome Molly lead singer Debby Giard. “No better place to be.”

They played covers from bands like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. Dave Ames is on bass guitar, Jeff Chissis and Dan Springer are on electric guitars, Brad Stole is on drums, and Darin Hawks is on keyboard and vocals.

“There’s two of us who have been in it for twenty years,” Giard said. In the past decades, Chrome Molly has played consistently in bars around Renton like The Pickled Onion, JP’s Baroom, and others. Some places have changed names and ownership in the time they’ve played there — but they’re still playing.

Eliza and Marcos Burgos have lived with their kids in Renton for 12 years and attended the show.

“They sang well, and the crowd was great,” said Eliza. The family loves Renton, especially in this weather, she said.

The band has kicked off the free 2024 Summer Concert Series hosted by Renton’s Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Renton Municipal Arts Commission. The events are sponsored by Ivar’s and Kidd Valley.
