Renton’s EriAm Sisters moved into the next round of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, after performing live in Hollywood.
“You are the future. You are the next Destiny’s Child,” said judge Sharon Osbourne on the Tuesday night show.
They were the second pick in the nationwide vote, which was announced Aug. 26.
“I think your talent really lies in your singing,” said judge David Hasselhoff on the show, which is a competition accepting acts of all types.
Host Nick Cannon tricked the girls on the show into thinking they were cut, before announcing their win. The girls took the trick graciously and with smiles, before crying for joy in news of their win.
“That was a mean trick you just played,” said judge Piers Morgan, often framed as the harsh one. “You call me the bad guy, my god.”
The girls were among five selected for this round to move onto the semifinals with a total of 20 contestants.
“Girls you’ve got a great chance now,” Morgan said.
The girls performed “Crazy in Love” by artists Beyonce and Jay-Z. During the show they performed for the first time with other dancers on stage, three boys riding bicycles.
“It wasn’t brilliant last night, it was OK, you can do better than that,” Morgan said the next day.
The show allows people to vote nationwide up to 10 times per show through text messaging and a phone call. For more information visit NBC’s voting page.
The girls are expected to perform live Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. on NBC, watch rentonreporter.com for updates.
