‘Five Women Wearing the Same Dress’ runs through Feb. 28 at Renton Civic

Directed by Kevin Miller, this is the tale of an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tenn. estate, where five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom.

“Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,”  by Alan Ball is now playing at the Renton Civic Theatre.

Performances run 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays; 8 p.m. Sundays through Feb. 28, at 507 S. Third St., Renton.

Directed by Kevin Miller, this is the tale of an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tenn. estate, where five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom. Each has her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on these five very different women joyously discover a common bond.

Ball is also known for writing the film “American Beauty” and creating the cable series “True Blood” and “Six Feet Under.”
