Despite rainy, cold weather Friday the city celebrated the first official lighting of Clam Lights at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park. Opening day of Clam Lights also included the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus along with musical performances by the Lindbergh vocal jazz ensemble. Photos with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Ivar’s Clam were available for attendees. The event ended with the Rainier Yacht Club Parade of Boars and the Argosy Christmas Ships. The display features more than 200,000 lights on trees, shrubs and throughout the park. Clam Lights will continue now through Jan. 1, 2019 with displays being lit from 5 to 9 p.m.
