Globetrotters to honor 12th Man this weekend

The Harlem Globetrotters will salute the 2014 Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks and their fans this weekend at four Seattle area games when the entire team will wear special No. 12 jerseys at each game.

In a unprecedented  move, the Harlem Globetrotters will salute the 2014 Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks and their fans this weekend at four Seattle area games when the entire team will wear special No. 12 jerseys at each game.

The Globetrotters, as part of their 2014 “You Write the Rules” World Tour, will be playing at ShoWare Center in Kent (doubleheader, 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. Feb. 15), Comcast Arena in Everett (2 p.m. Feb. 16) and KeyArena in Seattle (2 p.m. Feb. 17). The Globetrotters have also invited Seahawks coaches and players to take part in the celebration.

“Our organization would like to salute the NFL Champion Seahawks and their fans throughout the weekend with a special tribute,” said Globetrotter Showman Hi-Lite Bruton, who will trade in his regular No. 26 jersey for a No. 12.  “The enthusiasm of the Seahawks fans, the 12th Man, is inspiring.  Perhaps the Globetrotters can ride the same momentum this weekend against our opponent. We look forward to entertaining the fans of the Emerald City this weekend and having some fun.”

The Globetrotters’ North American tour will see the team play 300 games in over 250 cities in 48 U.S. states, six Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through April 2014.  Tickets are available now at www.harlemglobetrotters.com.
