The Hazen Band has performed numerous community events this year, including the grand reopening of the Albertson’s, Newcastle’s Earth Day at Lake Boren and Renton Music at the Landing.

“This is all part of our long term focus to grow the music program at Hazen, and doing extensive community outreach,” said Hazen’s music director, Christopher Coy, in a press release. “We are busy raising funds to resurrect the marching band program that flourished at Hazen many years ago. I come from Ohio, and nearly every high school there has a marching band, that adds so much to community and sporting events.

“Holding the dance/fundraiser at the Rocking Horse Barn seemed like a natural fit, they have a great facility for swing dancing, it makes it even more special to do the concert off campus, and it gives everyone a chance to enjoy this music how it was meant to enjoyed, while dancing.”

The Rocking Horse Barn is located at 11820 150th Avenue Southeast, Renton.
