Fine-art photographer John Geissler is the featured artist at Carco Theatre presented by the Renton Municipal Arts Commission through Feb. 18.

The public is invited to attend the artist reception to view the art and meet Geissler from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Satuday (Jan. 15).

Geissler incorporates the use of alternative processes as well as traditional methods to produce his photographic work. He has attended class at the University of Washington as well as the Photographic Center Northwest.

He was drawn to photography at a young age.

“The feel of a camera, the look of a beautiful photograph entranced me,” he said in a press release.

He works in black and white, color slide and digital formats.

Carco Theatre is located adjacent to the Renton Community Center, 1717 Maple Valley Highway. Theatre hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Contact the theatre for show times at 425-430-6706.
