The Renton Civic Theatre will celebrate its 25th silver anniversary with 2012-2013 season filled with favorite shows from the past 25 years.
The opening musical and celebration planning are still in the works for September, but the new season starts off with “Arsenic and Old Lace” in October.

Family drama ensues as Mortimer Brewster debates whether to marry the woman he loves. He must deal with his homicidal family and local police in the process, including two spinster aunts who routinely murder lonely old men.

Dec. 7 – 22, 2012
The much-beloved story of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents. They abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the infamous Miss Hannigan. In her adventures she upsets Miss Hannigan’s evil pilot, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a dog named Sandy and takes refuge in the home of billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
“The Foreigner,” by Larry Shue

This is the tale of a pathologically shy man named Charlie, who’s friend “Froggy” has introduced him to everyone as a non-English speaking foreigner.
The ruse makes for drama as Charlie hears more than he’s supposed to among the locals. In this comedy’s climax things go uproariously awry for the “bad guys” and triumphantly well for the “good guys.”

Adapted from the book, this is the story of a young Jewish girl, who is forced into hiding with her family and friends in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam.

Considered Broadway’s greatest farce, this musical features the comedies of playwright Plautus in the style of classic vaudeville.
Slave, Pseudolus, tries to win the hand of the beautiful, but slow-witted courtesan Philia for young master Hero in exchange for his freedom.
