On March 23 Renton Police Officer Thaddeus Kerkhoff was honored as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

He was recognized for his accomplishments as School Resource Officer at Renton High School. As resource officer, he helped start “Pizza with a Cop.”

He was nominated by the Renton American Legion Fred Hancock Post No. 19 and was selected by the Legion Department of Washington.

At the department’s annual convention in July, Kerkhoff will be presented with this award.
