Renton soprano to sing in Seattle opera

One of Renton’s own will sing in Puccini’s opera La Bohéme at the Moore Theatre, 4 p.m., March 27.

The historic Moore Theater is located at 1932 Second Avenue  in Seattle.

Soprano Karen AiLi Unkefer,of Renton will sing in the Seattle Theatre Group’s presentation of a Lyric Opera Northwest production.

Unkefer earned her bachelor and master degrees in education and has sung in the university chorus and church choir. Her passion for music led her to study voice and piano. She currently studies voice with Lyric Opera Northwest co-founders Pam Casella and Craig Nim.

Unkefer will perform with Seattle favorite tenor Gino Lucchetti who leads the cast as Rodolfo, and his beloved Mimi is Lyric Opera Northwest favorite Dohee Kim.

Metropolitan Opera chorus veteran Carissa Castaldo performs  Musetta, while Jason Fowler (Sykes in LONW’s production of Oliver! last October) sings Marcello.
