The Renton Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Debut Orchestra — an orchestra that gives students the opportunity to play in an orchestral setting with other musicians — is in its 30th year.
The next program begins Sept. 11 and finishes with a concert at Caro Theatre on Dec. 17.
New students will be given the chance to play for music staff to help ensure they are placed into the proper orchestra.
Placements will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at the Renton Community Center.
Registration is $135 for residents and $162 for non-residents. The Debut Orchestra fees for younger musicians are $100 for residents and $120 for non-residents.
Scholarships are also available.
Registration can be done at the community center, online at www.rentonwa.gov/cybersignup.org or by phone at 425-430-6700.
