With the voting closed and all the votes counted, the 2014 FilmFrenzy VII Renton Reporter People’s Choice Curvee award was given to the Film Vandals during a special presentation at Monday’s City Council meeting.
The Vandals won the award for their movie “Rewriting Renton.”
This is the second year in a row that the Film Vandals have won both the People’s Choice Award and the Best Use of Renton Award in the FilmFrenzy. This year, “Rewriting Renton” also won the third-place award in the open category.
Film Vandals member Erik Showacy was on hand Monday to accept the award from Renton Reporter Editor Brian Beckley. Showacy thanked the council and the FilmFrenzy staff for the opportunity the competition provides and said his team would be back again next year to defend their awards.
