July 18

Café Vets: Monthly gathering of veterans and guests for coffee and refreshments hosted by Renton American Legion Post 19 and Auxiliary Unit 19 on the third Thursday of every month (except December) from 10 a.m. to noon. Come for coffee, camaraderie and goodies. Legion membership is not a requirement, though most veterans are eligible for membership. Post Service Officer will be on hand, in case someone needs assistance with a VA claim. No agenda, just veterans getting together with other veterans and their friends. Post Hall is in the Renton Highlands, under the water tower (3224 Northeast 12th Street).

Family Fun Entertainment Series: Marco Cortes at Liberty Park: This free live performance will begin at 11:30 a.m., where Marco will sing and play familiar songs in both Spanish and English. Liberty Park is located at 1101 Bronson Way North.

July 20

Free Museum Day at the Renton History Museum: Enjoy the wonders of the past with free admission to the museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free museum days are every first Wednesday and third Saturday of each month.

July 23

Renton Farmers Market at Piazza Park: From 3-7 p.m., enjoy the fruits, vegetables, local wares and more from local vendors. Park in the City Center Parking Garage on 2nd Street. The farmers market runs every Tuesday at the same time until Sept. 24.

July 26 – 28

Renton River Days:

Renton River Days is back! General activities will be in several locations throughout the city, including Liberty Park, Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center, Maplewood Golf Course, Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, Cedar River Park and Renton Community Center. The parade will be on South 3rd Street at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27. As the event draws closer, more information will be available. For the full schedule of events, visit rentonwa.gov/riverdays.

Summer Concert Series: Dakota Poorman at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park: Experience country-rock singer Dakota Poorman at the Kidd Valley Stage for a free show starting at 7 p.m. Located at 1201 Lake Washington Boulevard North.

Family Fun Entertainment Series: Mikey the Rad Scientist at Heritage Park: This free live performance will begin at 12:30 p.m., where Marco will bring science and nature to life with his creative, interactive, and engaging music! Heritage Park is located at 233 Union Avenue Northeast.

Aug. 7

Family Fun Entertainment Series: CHIKIRI & The School of Taiko at Kiwanis Park: Don’t miss this free taiko drum performance at 11:30 a.m.! Kiwanis Park is located at 815 Union Avenue Northeast.

Aug. 8

Fem Allies In Business (F.A.B.) at Merrill Gardens: FAB – Fem Allies in Business, a professional women’s networking group. This free event is held every second Thursday of the month from 9 – 10:30 a.m. and includes a light breakfast, a networking activity, and an occasional guest speaker. Merrill Gardens is located at 104 Burnett Avenue South in Renton.

Project Be Free presents Family Resource Night at VFW Post 1263: From 3-7 p.m., get connected with non-profits and organizations throughout Renton and South King County that provide counseling, legal support, support groups, youth mentorship and more. Saturdays

Renton Parkrun at Cedar River Trail: This weekly 5K community event takes place every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Cedar River Trail trailhead by the I-405 overpass. This free event does require registration but is meant to be a fun event where walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and spectators can come together.
