14-year-old arrested in connection with two Renton murders

The male Burien resident was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a 54-year-old man.

14-year-old Burien resident has been arrested and charged in connection to two Renton murders.

On Jan. 12, Renton Police responded to reports of a man being shot at the 2000 block of Benson Road. Police arrived to find a 54-year-old Renton man laying on the sidewalk outside some businesses.

The man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and despite an effort by first responders and paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooter had fled police as the passenger in a black SUV. Renton detectives were able to identify the shooter. Police were able to find the suspect’s vehicle at a nearby apartment complex and Valley SWAT operations executed a search warrant on the evening of Jan. 13.

The 14-year-old male suspected of being the shooter was arrested and booked into KinG County Juvenile Detention. He faces charges for this incident as well as another murder he is suspected of having committed in late 2021.
