19-year-old charged in Lindbergh junior’s murder to be arraigned Wednesday

Jarod Thomas Lane, 19, charged with murdering a 17-year-old Lindbergh High School junior at her home, is now back in Washington.

Jarod Thomas Lane, 19, of Renton, charged with murdering a 17-year-old Lindbergh High School junior at her home May 25, will be arraigned Wednesday morning.

The hearing is at 8:30 a.m. in courtroom 1201 at the King County Courthouse in downtown Seattle.

Lane was booked Friday at just after 7 p.m. into the King County Jail in Seattle on $2 million bail. He was arrested in Oklahoma May 29, after fleeing the state.

His originally schedule arraignment for Monday had been postponed because of uncertainty as to when he would return to the state.

He is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree arson for killing Jessica Scholl, his former girlfriend, at her family’s home in Renton near Lindbergh and then setting fire to the house. Lane also attended Lindbergh.
