Amazon donated about $50,000 worth of linens, towels, shelf-stable food, comfort items and other supplies on Tuesday to help King County transform a former motel in Kent into temporary housing for patients in quarantine, isolation and recovery due to COVID-19.
King County employees then unloaded and unpacked the supplies and put together welcome kits for incoming patients, who will be housed at 1233 Central Ave. N. in Kent, according to a King County news release. The site is a former Econo Lodge that the county purchased for $4 million.
As of Tuesday, two King County residents were staying at the facility, according to Public Health – Seattle & King County.
Individuals can only be placed into the site after a health professional with Public Health – Seattle & King County has determined that they need isolation or quarantine.
