Shot at

Renton police responded on July 2 at approximately 3:30 p.m. to an illegal discharge call near the area of Hardie Avenue Southwest and Southwest Victoria Street. According to the department, officers learned a witness said they saw a driver of a vehicle fire a gun out the window. A short time later, the King County Sheriff’s Office called to report a person was at their West Hill location and stated he had just been shot at. Officers interviewed the victim, who stated he did not know who the suspect was, nor any reason the suspect would shoot at him. The victim’s vehicle received no damage and the victim was uninjured in the incident. Investigation continues.

Ambulance driver

Renton police responded on July 7 at approximately 2:74 a.m. to the 400 block of South 43rd Street for report of an assault. The victim stated to law enforcement he served as an ambulance driver, and a highly intoxicated individual assaulted him as he was transporting them to the hospital. According to the department, the suspect additionally held three outstanding warrants, totaling $23,000.

Inconsistencies

Renton police responded on July 2 to a report of a domestic disturbance, where a woman stated her boyfriend assaulted her. According to the department, the boyfriend, located at a separate location, had a different story. Officers were unable to determine who the primary aggressor was as a result of lacking evidence and inconsistencies in the stories, according to the department. The case was forwarded to the department’s investigations team for followup.

Domestic disturbance

Renton police officers responded on July 3 at approximately 7:43 a.m. to the 1000 block of Sunset Boulevard Northeast after receiving report of an in-progress domestic disturbance. When they arrived, officers contacted the suspect, a man, who refused to allow officers inside to check on the welfare of his wife. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and rendered aid to the victim. Law enforcement booked the suspect into jail on investigation of assault in the second degree, two counts of exposing a minor child to domestic violence, and two counts of obstructing a public servant.
