An idea for the tax rebate: Donate to St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul is suggesting some ways to use the tax rebates arriving in the mail, all of which would help a worldwide organization that has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

St. Vincent de Paul is suggesting some ways to use the tax rebates arriving in the mail, all of which would help a worldwide organization that has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

St. Vincent de Paul has a thrift store in the Highlands at 2825 Sunset Blvd. N.E.

“We believe this is an easy way to help a neighbor in need. And it won’t cost a dime from your regular income,” said Richard Bray of Renton, who is director of donor and community relations for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King County.

Here are the ideas:

• Make a financial gift to St. Vincent de Paul. Help a neighbor in need by preventing eviction, power shut-off or hunger—consider $175 in honor of the 175th anniversary.

• Shop at the Renton Highlands thrift store. And if someone buys a new plasma TV or a furniture set, Bray suggests donating the good-conditioned used one. Call 206-767-9975 ext. 116 for details.

• Donate all or part of the tax rebate to St. Vincent de Paul.

St. Vincent de Paul has served Renton needy since 1954.

Donations can be sent to St. Vincent de Paul c/o St. Anthony Parish, 314 S. Fourth St, Renton, WA 98055 or drop off at the St. Vincent de Paul Renton Highlands thrift store, 2825 Sunset Blvd. N.E. Call 206-957-7241 for more information.
