Late Wednesday afternoon, City Council Candidate Stuart Avery released the following statement:

Based on the most recent vote tally from King County Elections, it is clear my opponent Armondo Pavone has won election for Renton City Council position 2. I congratulate Mr. Pavone for his win, and wish him success in his efforts to represent Renton’s citizens.

I will continue my various volunteer rolls, and my advocacy for community needs.  I am grateful for the overwhelming support and encouragement received from many Renton residents and business owners, and thankful for the relationships which have developed over the past months while campaigning.  I do not consider this a lose, as I have gained much from the experience.

The largest portion of thanks goes to my dear wife and two boys who have stood by my side throughout the campaign, and assisted me whenever it was needed.

I am truly blessed.
