Punched in the face

On June 2 at approximately 5:58 p.m., Renton officers were dispatched to a strong-arm robbery in the 700 block of Rainier Avenue South. Dispatch advised that an off-duty officer working security for a store had confronted a shoplifting suspect. The suspect punched the security officer in the face, according to the department. Law enforcement established probable cause to arrest the suspect on charges of assault in the third degree and theft in the third degree, according to the department. Police booked the suspect into the King County Jail.

Juvenile assault

Renton police officers were dispatched on June 3 at approximately 1:41 p.m. to an allegation of an assault at the 1200 block of Edmonds Avenue Northeast. The victim reported that a ball was thrown at the back of his head, according to the department. No injuries resulted from the incident. The victim wished to press charges, according to the department. The responding officer forwarded a copy of the case to the King County Juvenile Prosecutor for review.
